I am personally challenging WCB employees and ex-employees to step forward and admit to the atrocities that they have participated in, help make it right, even if it is just to clear your conscience. In the movie “Sicko” a doctor stepped forward and admitted to causing a mans death in order to save the insurance company that she was working for half a million dollars, she got a bonus for killing a man. Is this not what Hit-Men do? They kill people for money.
This is occurring in the WCB time and time again and it is destroying and killing more people than the Terrorism that has the world up in arms. Canadian citizens employed by the WCB are acting as Hit-Men or Hit-Women on citizens of their own country and for some reason they can’t seem to grasp how completely wrong and immoral it is.
Are you a professional Hit-Man or Hit-Women working for WCB? Do you destroy people for a living? How can you sleep at night? Your actions have killed people and those who don’t die from WCB abuse live in pain and poverty in a significant number of cases for the rest of their lives. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
The question really is . . . can a person without morals, who is or was a WCB Hit-Man for a living ever show the true courage that it would take to help right the wrongs they have done to fellow Canadians?

I am sad to see IW’s still believe that ’shock value’ is going to further our cause. It never has and it never will. Words like terrorism, abuse, crazy, etc., just push the people that have the power to help, away. Big away. There is a new framework to work from. It is the paper posted on ciws.ca caled Commission on Social Determinants of Health “A Conceptual Framework for Action on the Social Determinants of Health”. On Page 16 “Theories of Power to guide Action on Social Determinants” which basically discusses changing the distribution of power and how that is a political process. It opens up the entire subject which is basically Our Health.
The Road to Claims Recovery is how I phrase it in my mind. And I wish to gawd people would start changing their language around it. This fight is about the Direction We Take It To and how we can Participate in doing that. Huge policy changes are coming to Ontario, so the timing is perfect for us to become engaged at a higher political level. Please indulge yourself. Look the expectations of WC’s Return To Work policies have proven ‘the process’ makes us too sick to even do that, because they strip us completely of all attachments to society, all of our worldly belongings are gone, before we figure it out. And Yet IT ISN’T WORKING for them.
And if I had my way, I would disappear this thread; shock value does nothing and most certainly will not bring in any ‘agents of change’. Just my opinion. DMB
Well, since we want to discuss the type of topic that is posted here, let’s do that.
People are reading this post right? It is the second most viewed post on this Blog (the first is a link exchange), what does that tell you? It is viewed more frequently than the many well written, politically correct posts. In the world of the Internet, it is imperative to have a complete range of content to attract the wide variety of Google searches injured workers are clicking.
Feel free to disagree with the topic but NEVER say censorship! Why remove a post that brings in viewers just because you do not agree with it? I would never remove a comment because I disagree with it, that would be unthinkable. There are people searching for this kind of info on Google and sure enough they find this blog, they proceed to read other posts while they are here. Next thing you know, you have people following along with the movement to change the WCB.
This is very basic, simple marketing, is there really anything confusing about this approach to gaining viewers to this blog?
People want to read about other peoples thoughts and sometimes I am in a dark place and I really do feel this way about WCB, so I write about it.
You never know, the “Agents of Change” that may help bring around the change we need, may be in a dark mood when they find this blog as well, one never knows where we will find the help we need.
Bottom line in my opinion is The Doctors .If doctors would do what they took in school and spent many years in school to become doctors and stick to medical problems with human life and not let the government walk all over them as the government has been doing for the past 10 years .They find the problem with a humans life and make notes of it what is great then report it to W.C.B. or some other source just to have it shot down and change your mind or we (W.C.B.) WILL not pay you .W.C.B. was brought into place because humans got hurt due to lack of companys not carring about workers .You got hurt doing your job got hurt you’d have to sue your company why W.C.B. was brought in because if the company lost the case the doors would close and guess what alot of tax money would be gone.In my opinion this is why W.C.B. WAS BROUGHT IN not for the injured worker but to save companies from closing doors and the government is out of waisting money as they always have and still do and should be in court over it but are protected .Change these rules make the government explain to humans why they did that with our taxes make them go infront of humans and explain why government can do this and get away with it .It’s a crime and should be brought to justice and let the ones whom did it pay and do the time after all whats good for humans is good for the government .Humans care government don’t MY OPINION

I would think that getting a WCB worker to roll over on themselves or on there comrades,Would be about as hopefull as a rapist understanding the damage thats been inflicked by there actions.The doors of wcb are being stormed by an endless supply of scum that are more then happy to sell there soul.As far as being in a dark place goes,I would doubt that i would be here now if i were thinking happy thoughts. I’ve always stood on the side that is right,But im finding that the right side seemingly has no where to stand. If there is a place that i can unite and stand then it would be helpfull if someone could clarify where.
I couldn’t agree more with the first message on this site. As a former WCB employee – who managed serious, long term, and complex claims, I have witnessed serious incompetence and malicious activity that no doubt has destroyed many lives. The problem, as I now see it (having decided to leave the organization out of choice) has numerous causes and dimensions – incompetence is simply one of many factors leading to destruction of lives. I could go on forever citing other factors and reasons for the injustices that occur, but I have to agree that greed, lack of a moral compass, and the breakdown of sanity that occurs (a slow process) withing injured workers who have to make sense of this “crazy making” system, leads to the lack of a unified and consistently strong cumuluative group effort required to change the system as it currently exists.
Upon reading the above I relate to the surprise that with so many of us out here we never seem to rally together. I believe that may be because after seeing how far WCB employees will go to earn their pay, injured workers are mentally destroyed, and yes even scared of what these people are capable of. It is like poking a lion with a stick. The outcome may well turn out for the worse. Lets face it, who in any position of power is willing or able or cares to change WCB. after all WCB is doing exactly what Government and big industry designed it to do. SAve them money and deny injured workers access to justice we once received in the courts.
I have been treated like a terrorist, my life has been destroyed more by what these WCB employees have done to me in their efforts to deny me compensation than my injury. The tactics WCB employees use are designed and intended to break us, to destroy our resolve to be treated fairly for the losses incured while being a productive member of society. They actually spend more paying humans extra to destroy us than it would cost them to help us.
I had been on duty for almost 18 hours. We were rushing and cutting corners to get done. I bailed off the train (part of the required duties) at 2:30-3:00 AM. It was dark and out in the middle of nowhere. I bailed off too soon, so the train was still doing over 20 miles per hour (35 KM per hour) When I hit the ground my hips and legs planted but my upper torso slid forward snapping my facets at L5-S1 and my spine sheared forward almost 1/2 inch. My family doctor showed me what happened and explained it to me. WCB’s (HIRED there is a whole story here as well)Dr told me I was fine and that the injury was congenital (I was just getting old?) My injury was not because of the impact at over 30 km per hour it occured due to the degenrative condition caused from age. I was 40 years old and very much at the best physical condition. Even if I was getting old it was the impact that caused the injury not my age?
My faith in humanity has been devastated by the actions of those who work for Worker’s Compensation. My life has never been the way it was. I am rarely upbeat and happy, my life is now filled with sadness, distrust, pain. I struggle every day to return to the joyful life I had before my injury.
I have experienced WCB employees taking words from Doctor’s reports at random and putting them together in sentences, out of context, to intensionally to put a completely different spin on what was really said, done or happened.

WE HAVE TO GET SERIOUS AND START SHOWING UP AT THE FRONT DOORS OF WCB BUILDINGS EVERYWHERE IN HUGE NUMBERS< NOW RIGHT NOW<FROM NOW RIGHT UP TO THE ELECTION. DO IT GATHER TOGETHER LETS SHOW THE PUBLIC WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON. THE GENERAL PUBLIC DOES NOT KNOW!
I BELIEVE THAT EITHER WCB SHOULD BE DISMANTTLED OR MADE TO BE ABOUT THE INJURED WORKER AND NOT THE BERLIN WALL IT IS TODAY, PROTECTING THE RICH FROM THE EXPENSE OF DOING THE RIGHT THING FOR WORKERS INJURED WHILE INGAGED IN MAKING THEM MONEY!
As a further add-on to my previous post – based on my experience, I see that a unified group of injured workers is necessary to fight the system (numbers large enough to make a difference and precipitate change)…as with other challenges in life – strength in numbers is a key ingredient, additionally strong leadership in terms of a professional, articulate, and financially stable voice would certainly help.
It is our lack of leadership that allows WCB to continue to act as a Berlin wall protecting the rich from the costs associated with doing the morally right thing when it comes to injured workers. We get injured at work while earning our employers money. If they pay the ants what they are worth then they (the rich) wouldn’t be as rich. Nothing will change until we stand together.
There is an election coming up
We should alll be gathering in from of WCB offices everywhere letting the general public know what WCB is really about and demand change by our politicians. They know what WCB does, they need to have there eyes opened to the reality each of us endure each day. They need to know, to experience the devastation WCB inflicts on injured workers
i am new here . I was looking from some info , if anyone knew if wcb can vidoe tape you through the windows on your private home. I was . i was taped as they saw doing something wrong. I have chronic pain 24/7 and all the doctors and clinic they sant me too , confirmed it. but the independent appeal board of alberta decide i was fix for work on the tape. not believing on the doctors reports. WCB, gave me a wheelchair and a cleaning lady though. but said i can work and they have no more to do with me other then the cleaning lady ,oh and a cook. they give me 91 dollars a month for both . LOL this is in alberta by the way. i would really like to know what to do right now since i have no clue. thank you
You are wondering if the WCB is able to film you doing something you claim you can’t do, and no one has a problem with this? It’s people like you who make it difficult for people with real claims to get help. Don’t go swinging from your ceiling at home then go to a WCB office and claim you can’t work, it’s a lie.
