Columbia Rehab Center in Langley is a BIG time JOKE

I write about this so called Rehab Center in a very negative way as my treatment was non existent and I also saw the treatment and the unbelievable condition victims were in when they were sent back to work. Please don’t get me wrong, a couple of the people that work there were nice enough, they just don’t have a clue how to rehabilitate injury victims. They actually told me that they do not know how to deal with my injury as I have a sit down in front of a computer job. Um, folks that is where the pain is the worst, when I sit in front of a computer, how about finding the cause before giving up after one scan, if they are not capable of helping me, why do they not say so and send me to someone who is better equipped to deal with my pain?

The first thing I would like to mention is the high volume of prescriptions Struthers writes (can you say ‘kickbacks’?), the big inside joke there is that everyone at lunch time will toss their drugs into a bucket and then there will be a smorgasbord for lunch, no real reason not to, they don’t work anyway.

Now let me tell you a bit about a few of the people I met at the Center, perhaps their stories will appear here soon.

There was this one person who is a welder on bridges, he crushed a vertebrae on the job. This man could barely walk and was in obvious pain. Struthers figures take some drugs and go back to work . . . Not sure about you but I am shocked that this person would be considered able to weld bridges. There is another man who has a shoulder problem, he has been sentenced 3 different times to this facility and each time they put him on exercises which re-injure his shoulder and force him to get more operations, Struthers actually told this man that he should be going back to work and that there are not many jobs for one armed men. Is this so called Doctor for real?

Classes to help you recover?
I have to tell you about the first and last ‘class’ they put me into as I told them I would never sit through one again. This class was supposed to be about life after WCB . . .(would that be welfare?). I spent an entire hour listening to this person talk about how people in Somalia are worse off than we are and that we should consider ourselves survivors and not victims. I have news for them, once you are sentenced to Columbia Rehab you are a Victim. The rest of the hour was spent in an attempted brainwash to convince us that their methods are the only methods that work and that all other treatments do nothing for injuries. I would like to know how this is helping anyone besides Columbia.

It’s funny how they have all victims fill out a survey just before leaving, I would be surprised if even one person has written positive comments, every single person there wrote all negative remarks, yet they stay in business. Why? Could it be that WCB never sees these surveys? Well maybe, but it is more likely that WCB does not care about client experience, because WCB wants a place that has no thoughts for the people and pumps them out so that WCB can blame an outside company for this idiocy and in my opinion criminal behavior.

The bottom line here folks is that for me the Columbia Rehab experience was a very negative experience and I am shocked that they can stay in business. If you are sentenced to time at Columbia, you may want to start talks with a lawyer to protect yourself from this insanity.
