You know….there are those that really and I mean REALLY take advantage of the WCB now WorkSafe BC when they file a claim. Then there are those that are seriously injured and sometimes even lose their lives, does anyone realize how lucky how our country is to have the oppportunity to have the support when we needwe are injured at our workplace? Granted at times the Board does not agree but one does have the option to appeal the decision. There are many countries around the world who don’t have coverage and have to pay pardon the pun ” out of their butts, the extra money to pay for insurance coverage ouy of their own personal pockets to sue the employer on their own. I have seen claimants scream and yell for the silliest things at the employees at the Board and you know what everyone give them a chance to at least finish a bloody sentence…and maybe listen to what they are saying…they are there to help us..its there income…they have families too….just like you do…its there job to do there job by the books..they follow Policies and Regulations…I’m sure when you’re at your workplace you follow your instructions or you would get your butt kicked as well…right out the door. I have heard and seen many good things happen to families who have lost loved ones in tragic accidents and the Board has helped them tremendously with support and understanding…which means alot in todays world. Imangine all young teens who never get trained properly by their employers and get into serious accidents and end up losing limbs, arms, or even parlayzed and in an instance that young person’s life is change forever…why…they were not trained properly ..can’t blame the Board ..their media is everywhere regarding young teens and their training is there to the employers to provide to the staff. But the Board will be there for you…. just from me standing in line one morning at the front of the desk in Richmond office of the Board to talk my Case Manager…i can tell how hard they really work..everyone from people who answer phones right up the case managers and managers of offices. I commend them for their great jobs.
